Ikea Size Memory Foam Mattresses

My Memory Mattress

When it comes to a memory foam mattress, you’d be forgiven in thinking that there are just a few standard sizes available – single, queen, king and super king. Nice and straightforward, right?

Well, no, not quite.

With the advent of bed frame manufactures from continental Europe and Scandinavia – including the very prominent Swedish IKEA company – firmly ensconcing themselves within the UK market, the emergence of a whole array of mattress sizes has meant that UK manufacturers and suppliers have had to broaden their horizons and bolster their stock.

In the UK, we’re actually an odd mix of mattress sizes based on imperial measurements, but we also offer metric equivalents too.

Confusingly, the older and a great many current Ikea bed frames actually conform to and accommodate continental or IKEA-only sizes… although the Swedish furniture giant has recently had a lightbulb moment and is slowly introducing UK sizes into their range too.

But if you’re one of the many hundreds of thousands of IKEA bed owners, or perhaps you’ve looked abroad for your bed frame of choice, then you’ll be looking to source a mattress that’s a perfect fit. Our advice? Measure once, measure twice and then measure once more just to make sure that you’ve got the correct mattress size. Don’t just rely on mattress names such as ‘single’, ‘twin’, ‘double’ or ‘king’, as this could mean different things depending on where the bed frame was designed and manufactured!

The good news is that here at My Memory Mattress, we not only supply a large range of UK memory foam and latex mattresses, IKEA size memory foam mattress and continental-sized mattresses - but did you know that we can also supply bespoke memory foam mattress and memory foam topper sizes too?! Why not email or call our sales team on 0845 467 5847 to discuss your memory mattress requirements, and see just how much you can save with My Memory Mattress today.

Introducing the Incredible 2-in-1 Memory Foam Mattress

My Memory Mattress

The brilliant and creative minds at our memory foam factory have been busy innovating and generally wowing us with their design prowess, coming up with a fantastic new addition that’s soon to launch on My Memory Mattress.

My Memory Mattress customers can now look forward to the prospect of a type of “two-in-one” memory foam mattress that incorporates two different firmness/tension gauges of memory foam to suit two individual preferences.

If two adults sharing a bed are of roughly the same weight and size, then a kingsize memory foam mattress should offer perfect support. But it’s not surprising that many of our customers could actually benefit from one of these two-in-one memory foam models. Aside from individual comfort preferences, partners that share the same bed are also often in completely different weight and size categories - meaning one partner often gets a better deal when it comes a more comfortable night’s sleep! For instance, a softer memory foam mattress will adequately support a smaller, lighter person, whilst a person with a larger frame and of a heavier weight will sink further into the soft mattress, often leaving them feeling somewhat ‘cocooned’ without adequate all-over support.

The two-in-one mattress negates the possibility of one partner getting the ‘raw deal’, offering the perfect firmness for both partners as well as memory foam’s independent support quality - for a cosy, healthy and undisturbed full night’s of sleep.

For further enquiries about this innovation, drop us an email via our Contact page, or call our sales team on 0845 467 5847 and we’ll be more than happy to help.

My Memory Mattress Introduces New PocketFLEX Memory Mattress Range

My Memory Mattress

You can certainly tell we’ve been busy updating our product catalogue – not only have we bolstered our memory foam and latex memory foam mattress range with the addition of the COOLBLUE (CoolVISCO) memory foam and GelFLEX mattresses for super-soft, super-relaxed night’s sleep, but we’ve now also added a range of PocketFLEX mattresses that bring you a soft-feel mattress with the benefits of super-supportive memory foam.

So how is a PocketFLEX mattress constructed? The simple answer is however you prefer! A standard PocketFLEX 25 mattress is constructed from 7cm of CoolVISCO memory foam (the visco elastic foam from our COOLBLUE range that has been engineered to help you stay cool and comfortable whilst you sleep), that’s attached to 18cm of sturdy reflex foam on the mattress base. Inside the standard PocketFLEX 25 you’ll find 1000 pocket springs that offer a soft firmness – but because we’re a useful bunch here at My Memory Mattress, you can also opt to customise your PocketFLEX mattress with 1200 or 1400 pocket springs for a firmer feel.

And that’s not where your customisable options end! You might be pleased to note that we can also offer customised non-standard sizes on our PocketFLEX mattress dimensions – just call our sales team with your preferred dimensions and we’ll arrange the personalised manufacture of your items.

Our PocketFLEX mattresses are tested to UK flammability regulations and come with a 10 year guarantee for your peace of mind. For more information about this mattress or any other product in our range, feel free to call the My Memory Mattress expert sales team on 0845 467 5847 today.

New GelFlex Memory Foam Mattresses

My Memory Mattress

Hot on the heels of our announcement about our new range of COOLBLUE memory foam comes the revelation that we are now also suppliers of GelFLEX™ mattresses, a new alternative to visco-elastic foam that’s designed to ensure ultimate sleep comfort. The LayGel itself is constructed with a gel-latex feel to provide a sensationally comfortable sleep surface, and offers a cool alternative to our natural latex mattresses.

Both the 20cm/8inch and 25cm/10inch versions of the GelFLEX™ foam mattresses feature a 7cm LayGel topper that’s fixed to a supportive reflex foam base. The LayGel top layer has a temperature-sensitive cone construction that not only supports the body and helps to reduce pressure points, but also helps to facilitate air circulation and ventilation. The added ‘breathability’ of the GelFLEX™ mattress means that keeping cool whilst you sleep is literally effortless.

Where we differ from other GelFLEX™ suppliers is that we can have your memory mattress customised. Now you can not only choose to have a 7cm LayGel foam topper set onto the reflex foam base, but we can also supply a mattress with a 5cm memory foam topper fixed to the underside of the mattress. This means that during the warmer spring and summer evenings you can feel the benefits of increased air circulation, and a simple turn of the mattress means that during the cooler season the temperature-sensitive sculpting qualities of the memory foam will provide you with an ultra-comfortable and warm night’s sleep. As well as our standard mattress sizes we are also able to manufacture to non-standard (custom) sizes, with rapid delivery.

You’ll also be pleased to note that our GelFLEX™ memory mattresses fully comply with UK flammability regulations, and are subject to a 10 year guarantee.
My Memory Mattress Now Stocking COOLBLUE Memory Foam

My Memory Mattress

Here at My Memory Mattress, we’re really excited to announce the arrival of an innovative new product – COOLBLUE Memory Foam. This new product has been created as quite literally a ‘cooler alternative’ to the traditional visco-elastic foam that is used in the manufacturing of many memory foam mattresses.

Although here at My Memory Mattress, our many of our memory foam mattresses come complete with a CoolMax cover to help dissipate body heat that’s trapped between the surfaces of the mattress and the sleeping bed occupant, COOLBLUE goes one step further. A COOLBLUE memory mattress comprises of 7cm of COOLVisco foam, and either a 13cm reflex foam base (total 20cm/8inch depth), or an 18cm reflex foam base (giving a 25cm/10inch depth mattress). Whilst the reflex foam provides a stable support to discourage sagging and that ‘sinking feeling’, as you might expect, the COOLBLUE foam is where the innovation lies.

The way in which the foam has been manufactured means that the mattress user lays on the foam, rather than being completely enveloped by it. And whilst the foam gives all the usual benefits of memory foam - such as helping to reduce pressure points and muscle tension, spreading body weight evenly, and promoting healthy circulation – the density and structure of the foam means that the mattress occupant stays cooler and even more comfortable, particularly on those sticky summer nights.

What’s more, our new COOLBLUE range of mattresses are also treated with UltraFresh, a microbial treatment that helps to eradicate bacteria, mould and mildew – great news for allergy sufferers, asthmatics and those that are simply a little more sensitive to the effects of house-born pests and microorganisms.

Our COOLBLUE memory mattresses adhere to UK flammability regulations and include a 10 year guarantee. To find out more about the COOLBLUE range that’s in stock right now, or any of our other memory foam mattresses, please feel free to call our friendly sales team on 0845 467 5847 and we’ll be more than happy to help.

How Will My Memory Mattress Be Delivered?

My Memory Mattress

Our memory mattresses are delivered rolled up and vacuum packed with protective plastic sheeting. Vacuum packed means that all of the air within the large plastic bag has been sucked out around the mattress and from the millions of tiny holes that populate the memory foam, making it compressed and as small as possible. Essentially this serves two beneficial purposes:

To reduce the area taken up by the mattress whilst in storage

To protect the mattress during transit.

This means that when your memory mattress is delivered, you will need to find a large flat, open area to unpack it. Once you have removed the outer plastic packaging, your memory foam mattress will slowly but surely unfurl into a flat shape. It’s worth noting that it may take a few hours – sometimes a couple of days - for the memory foam to ‘inflate’ to its full size. The memory foam is constructed from visco-elastic foam that is full of millions upon millions of tiny air pockets. When heat and pressure are applied to the mattress, air escapes from these air pockets, allowing the mattress to sculpt around your body. Once the pressure is removed, the air pockets are refilled with air and thus the memory mattress regains its original form.

You may also find that there is a substantial chemical smell when the memory foam mattress is unpacked after delivery – this is merely a side effect from the manufacturing process and is nothing to worry about. The mattress just needs some ‘airing’ for a minimum of 24 hours in a well-ventilated area.
Tips to Prolong the Life of Your Memory Mattress

My Memory Mattress

If you’re thinking about purchasing a memory foam mattress, one of your considerations will probably be the ‘life’ of the mattress – just how long will it last? Your average good quality memory foam mattress should last you around 10 years as standard – that’s the same as any pocket sprung or open coil mattress. But to make your mattress last for between 10 and 15 years, and for it to stay as comfortable as possible, there are a few tips and tricks that you can employ. Here’s a couple of suggestions from our experienced My Memory Mattress sales team:
1. Regularly rotate your mattress – but don’t turn it!

This is a very important tip – with many memory foam mattresses, a firmer, denser foam is used as the base of the mattress to avoid that ‘cocooning’ sensation of falling into the mattress. It is for this reason that you should only ever rotate your memory mattress head to foot way, as turning it over will cause a few surprises whilst you wait for that gorgeously sublime relaxing feeling to kick in at bedtime, only to find it never happens because you’re sleeping on a firm foam base!

2. Use a memory foam mattress protector or cover

Having an additional breathable mattress protector or fitted mattress cover on your memory foam will help to prolong the life of your mattress by providing a protective barrier against stains and damage, such as cat claws! A washable cover will also make your hypoallergenic memory mattress that much more hygienic. Remember, with many of our standard memory foam mattresses, we provide a FREE Coolmax memory mattress cover, which draws moisture away from you and the mattress and encourages rapid evaporation, helping to keep you cool and comfortable during those long hot summer nights.

Select the correct firmness for your weight!

As ever, prevention is the cure, so if you or your partner are that little bit on the heavy side, to help to prolong the life of your memory mattress you should opt for a slightly firmer density of memory foam to discourage permanent ‘sinking’ after a period of using the bed.

Hope you find this useful – for more advice or recommendations about your new memory foam mattress call our expert sales line on 0845 467 5847 today.

What Problems Can a Memory Foam Mattress Help to Alleviate?

My Memory Mattress

Memory foam mattresses are becoming increasingly popular, thanks to their literally therapeutic properties. Memory foam reacts to pressure and temperature, moulding around the body and helping to distribute bodyweight more evenly, reducing pressure points and helping to relieve muscle tension as you rest.

Here are some problems that memory foam mattresses have been known to help alleviate:

Headaches and Stiff Necks – a poor sleeping posture can aggravate existing aches and pains, or actually cause chronic problems if not addressed early enough. Memory foam helps to keep the body in a natural ‘resting’ position, relieving tension in the head and neck and helping to reduce the likelihood of tension-induced headaches.

Shoulder and Upper Back Pain –shoulder pain from poor sleeping posture is a common ailment. Because memory foam allows the shoulders to sink into the mattress, aligning the neck and spine and allowing shoulders to rest in their optimum joint and muscle position, the likelihood of shoulder pain and upper back pain is greatly reduced.

Lower Back Pain and Painful Hip/Knee Joints – again, incorrect sleeping postures and poor mattresses can force the back into positions that cause muscle strain and painful joints – this is especially common in women due to the natural contour of their hips. Existing hip pain can be exacerbated by a poor mattress, but memory foam has a much more ‘forgiving’ contouring nature that reduces pressure points and allows the lower back/lumbar region to sit in its natural curved position.

Circulatory Problems – swollen feet and calf muscles in particular can benefit from a memory foam mattress and its pressure relieving qualities that promote healthy circulation.

Common Questions About Our Memory Foam Mattresses

My Memory Mattress

Although you can find the answers to a good number of general frequently asked questions in ours FAQs section, we’ve endeavoured to answer a few more common questions relating to our memory foam mattresses.

1. Can I use an electric blanket with my memory foam mattress?

Yes, if you use your electric blanket according to the manufacturer’s instructions, you will be able to use it on your memory foam mattress without damaging the visco-elastic material.

2. Can I use a memory foam mattress on my electrically adjustable bed?

The flexible nature of the memory foam mattress makes it perfectly suitable for use with an electrically adjustable bed.

3. What makes your latex mattresses breathable?

There is often a misconception that all latex mattresses retain heat and keep the bed occupant feeling hot and sticky. Whilst this might be true of poor quality products, at My Memory Mattress we stock breathable latex mattress range that incorporates the Memtec Combi-Air™ system. This system has been engineered with a three dimensional, air channelling corrugated design inside the mattress that allows for moisture control The patented 3D-Spacer™ fabric design also allows for air flow and retains and gradually evaporates moisture, for a drier sleeping experience.

What is the Difference Between an Orthopaedic Mattress and a Memory Foam Mattress?

My Memory Mattress

One of the many reasons that our customers opt for memory foam mattresses is because of their comfort value. With back and joint pain a common problem amongst the adult population of Britain, it’s no surprise that the independent supportive qualities and contouring nature of memory foam continues to be a popular option for those looking to replace their mattress.

But one question that we’re sometimes asked by our customers looking for a mattress that will help to ease their aches and pains at the end of each day is, ‘what is the difference between an orthopaedic mattress and a memory foam mattress?’.

We’ve put together a basic guide that will help My Memory Mattress customers make the decision about what is the best memory foam mattress for their needs.

What is an Orthopaedic Mattress?

An orthopaedic mattress (sometimes spelt ‘orthopedic’), is designed to offer a fairly firm but comfortable feel for the user, contouring to the body’s shape and offering support that reduces pressure on the body’s joints. The way that orthopaedic mattresses are constructed can differ – in some cases they can be constructed from latex or they may be a firm memory foam base fused with reflex foam.

Why Choose Orthopaedic Mattress

At My Memory Mattress, our orthopaedic mattresses are made from ‘reflex foam’. Where memory foam contours to the body in reaction to pressure and temperature, reflex foam offers a comfortable but generally slightly firmer surface. Reflex foam reacts to pressure, and so gives plenty of support and allows the bed occupant to lie comfortably with joints and muscles in a relaxed, optimum position.

And whilst the reflex foam still allows for a reduction in pressure around joints and pressure points such as ankles, shoulders and elbows, in some cases it also makes turning in bed easier as there is a little more ‘feedback’ and firmness, and less ‘sinking’, making for a comfortable and restful night’s sleep.

Sleeping on a Memory Foam Mattress During Summer

My Memory Mattress

Here at My Memory Mattress HQ, through the windows we can see how gloriously blue the sky is, how the trees are in full leaf, and inside how loud and bold Sales Manager Jamie’s shirts have become! Yes, it can only mean that summer has arrived. During this season, we are often asked by our customers about the suitability of a memory foam mattress during the warmer months, as they have a reputation for heating up quickly, especially during sultry summer nights.

Whilst this might be true of cheap mattress imports, a number of our mattresses come with features and accessories specifically designed to keep you feeling cool and comfortable when the weather hots up. One huge advantage is that we supply a free, washable CoolMax® cover with every memory foam mattress purchase.

CoolMax® is a revolutionary comfortable, breathable and moisture-control material that was originally developed for use in athletic clothing. CoolMax® fabric fibres actively draw moisture away from the body, allowing the moisture to evaporate quickly and efficiently and resulting in a cooler, more comfortable night’s sleep. The CoolMax® cover comes with a handy robust zip so that it can be removed and washed as frequently as required.

What’s more, the Coolxax® cover that we supply is hypoallergenic, with antimicrobial and fungistatic qualities that help to reduce adverse reactions caused by dust, dust mites, bacteria, mould and other common allergens that inhabit mattresses and bed linen.

Remember, we offer a free CoolMax® cover with every 500, 700, 1000 and 1200 memory foam mattress purchased via My Memory Mattress, so can sleep away those hot summer nights in cooler comfort!

Memory Foam Mattresses for Back Pain

My Memory Mattress

As many as four out of five adults will, at some point in their lives, suffer from debilitating back aches and pains. Back pain can occur for many, many reasons, including poor working posture, muscular strains, being overweight, a myriad of specific medical conditions, and a poor mattress.

When you consider that the average adult will spend around a third of their life sleeping in bed, you begin to realise the importance of investing in a quality mattress that offers the right kind of support and comfort whilst you sleep. Many back pain complaints are due to poor sleeping positions and inadequate mattresses, and can easily be remedied by sleeping on a memory foam mattress.

It has been suggested that medium firm mattress generally offer the best support – hard firmness can cause pressure points and muscle strains, whereas a mattress that is too soft and sags also causes the sleeper to lie in awkward positions that pull and strain muscles as they unconsciously attempt to support limbs and joints as they sleep. This is especially the case where two occupants share the same bed, as the lighter of the two will roll into the centre of the bed and won’t be able to enjoy any independent support.

For two people, a double memory foam mattress offers the dual benefit of comfort as the memory foam moulds around pressure points and the body’s contour, as well as complete independent support that means nights of disturbed sleep by a tossing and turning bed partner are a thing of the past. Good quality memory foam mattresses don’t sag over time like traditional coil and open sprung mattresses, and so help to reduce the incidence of back pain in the sleeper. The body is able to fully relax and regenerate overnight, leaving muscles and joints well rested and pain free.

Although we don’t purport that a memory foam mattress is the answer to ALL back pain problems, we are confident that it will definitely contribute to a healthy, happy back that enhances your feeling of wellbeing.

Got Allergies? Then Invest in a Hypoallergenic Memory Foam Mattress

My Memory Mattress

Your average mattress is a veritable breeding ground for all manner of microscopic organisms, dust and skin particles, dust mites (which feast on dead skin particles),dust mite droppings and expired body parts, other insect parts, pollens, moulds and bacteria. A person can be allergic to any one of these materials or ‘bed bugs’, leaving them feeling tired, stuffy and general unwell after what is supposed to be a refreshing night’s sleep.

If you suffer from allergies borne from the ‘inhabitants’ of your mattress, or a condition such as asthma that is aggravated by the presence of dust mites, then you’ll know that although regular mattress vacuuming may alleviate the allergy symptoms from time to time, there is really never any let up as dust mites in particular are able to burrow deep into the mattress. You should, therefore, definitely consider the benefits of a hypoallergenic memory foam mattress.

Why is Memory Foam Mattress Hypoallergenic?

‘Hypoallergenic’ basically means that the object or matter in question has a much lower chance of provoking an allergic reaction. In this instance, memory foam mattresses are coined as hypoallergenic, simply because the foam itself- a dense visco-elastic substance - is virtually uninhabitable to bed bugs and leaves no room to trap larger dust or pollen particles, animal dander and similar materials. This fact alone greatly reduces the memory foam mattress’s capacity to ‘house’ dust mites, their droppings and other common allergens.

Every memory foam mattress, and our memory foam mattress toppers, in our range can be described as hypoallergenic. Remember, we offer a free 30 Night Trial Money Back Guarantee on our memory foam mattresses, so if you’re an allergy sufferer and are looking forward to waking up refreshed and rejuvenated, then there’s no reason not to invest in a memory foam mattress today!

Do Memory Foam Mattresses Smell?

My Memory Mattress

One question that we’re often asked by customers here at MyMemoryMattress is “will my memory foam mattress smell?”.

If you’re reading this because you’re looking to purchase a memory foam mattress, but have been put off by reports of the smell of new memory foam, then don’t worry – we’ll allay your fears!

Memory foam mattresses are made from a type of visco-elastic polyurethane, a highly resistant body heat-reactive material. When new, sometimes the memory foam has a distinct smell that dissipates quicker the longer it is allowed to air. In some instances, the glue used to bond the high density foam base to the memory foam mattress may also produce a distinct smell that again dissipates upon airing, particularly during hot summer months. These smells are normal and are not considered to be harmful, although on rare occasions may cause short-lived irritation to those with sensitive respiratory conditions.

Our memory foam mattresses are vacuum-packed immediately after manufacture to enable efficient storage and delivery, and to help avoid damage or contamination before they are unpacked by the customer. As such, they don’t have a chance to ventilate at any point after manufacture. This is why we recommend airing our memory foam mattresses once they have been unpacked after delivery.

The longer the mattress can air, the better. We advise our customers to ventilate their mattresses as much as possible for the first two weeks after delivery – after this time, the ‘new memory mattress’ smell has usually disappeared. If the smell persists after two weeks, we simply advise to continue airing and allowing for as much room ventilation as possible until the level of odour has decreased.

You’ve probably heard about the many benefits of investing in a memory foam mattress or memory foam topper. But before purchasing, you may be wondering “how long do memory foam mattress toppers last?”.

At MyMemoryMattress, we offer a 5 year guarantee on all of our memory foam toppers, but we expect our 60kg toppers to last anywhere from 12-15 years, even if used on a nightly basis. If you’re worried about hygiene, then rest assured that your memory foam mattress topper will remain clean and free of bed bugs, as memory foam is virtually uninhabitable to them. Memory foam is also considered ‘hypoallergenic’, particularly since the dense foam will not trap dust and dead skin cells, and can be easily cleaned on a regular basis.

What’s more, our memory foam toppers can be rotated and turned for longevity. But that’s not all - we can also offer a range of convoluted memory foam toppers, where one side resembles the soft peaks of egg crates to aid air circulation during the warm, humid summer months. The other side of our dual-use specialist toppers are flat, perfect for use during cooler winter months when body heat can contribute to a comfortable night’s sleep.

How Firm is a Memory Foam Mattress?

My Memory Mattress

Here at My Memory Mattress, we offer what is known as a V60 density of memory foam. We supply our memory foam mattresses in this density as we believe that it’s the most comfortable – it offers enough firmness for complete independent support and avoiding that feeling of being ‘cocooned’, whilst being soft enough to provide a comfortable, cosy night’s sleep.

Too firm memory foam can feel exceptionally hard, whilst memory foam that’s too soft and spongy can make turning difficult and uncomfortable, often leading to a restless night.
In the UK, memory foam firmness is measured according to a number of factors, including:

Weight (measured in kilograms per cubic metre – kg/m³)

Firmness/softness (measured in Newtons)

How Soon Can I Use A Memory Foam Mattress After Delivery?

My Memory Mattress

Need a memory foam mattress quickly? Then you might be wondering how soon you can put your memory foam mattress to use after it’s been delivered...

Our memory mattresses are delivered vacuum packed, in a protective covering to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition. This means that each memory mattress goes through a specialist vacuum packing machine that draws out air from each of the millions of tiny air pockets within the memory foam, compressing the mattress down to just a few centimetres thick.

This compression means the mattress can be rolled and packaged in an airtight covering, allowing the mattress to be easily stored and delivered. Once unrolled, the memory foam mattress can’t be rolled up again, although thinner mattress toppers can be easily rolled away when not in use.

The vacuum packing process doesn’t affect the memory foam’s performance; however, it will probably need between 4-8 hours at room temperature to ‘inflate’ after being unpacked - during this time, the tiny air pockets refill with air and the distinctive smell of new memory foam dissipates. Some small creases might still be present in the mattress after this time, but these should disappear within a few days.

The mattress will be ready to use after a day or so after delivery, although some people prefer to air their memory foam mattresses for a day or two if they’re particularly sensitive to the ‘new memory foam’ smell. In good quality memory foam mattresses, this smell should gradually disappear in a well-ventilated room within days.

Do You Have to Turn Memory Foam Mattresses?

My Memory Mattress

The very nature of memory foam mattresses means that they are not as prone to sagging and becoming unsupportive as standard sprung mattresses. In fact, we thoroughly recommend that you do NOT turn your memory foam mattress. This is because our memory mattresses are constructed with a firmer memory foam reflex base that is bonded to a softer but supportive memory foam topside. Therefore turning the mattress would mean that the benefit from the memory foam topside would be lost.

So whilst turning the mattress is a definite no-go area (but significantly reduces housekeeping duties), we sometimes recommend that the memory foam mattress can be rotated within the first month of use to help ‘break it in’ and ensure a thorough weight distribution.

Our memory foam mattresses have a V60 density, as we believe that this offers just the right amount of independent support and comfort, whilst not proving too firm so that it causes problems with pressure points on the body. This density of our memory foam mattresses means that they are not prone to sagging like many low budget, low density memory foam mattresses that are available from other retailers, and so have a longer lifespan. A very cheap memory foam mattress may seem like a bargain at the point of purchase, but is likely to degrade quickly and need replacing within a relatively short timeframe.

With My Memory Mattress you get the best of both worlds – competitive prices, mattress longevity and a blissfully restful, uninterrupted night’s sleep that leaves you feeling refreshed.

With many mattresses, body heat builds up during the night, which can cause overheating and restless night.

However, at My Memory Mattress, we supply a number of memory foam mattresses with in-built air ventilation systems to aid cooling air circulation to avoid body heat build up.
But that’s not all!

One noteworthy advantage of purchasing your memory foam mattress with My Memory Mattress is the fact that we supply cooling, breathable Coolmax® covers free of charge with all memory foam mattress purchases.

Coolmax® works by drawing moisture away from the skin, with the innovative structure of the polyester and nylon fibres enabling excelled evaporation. The pioneering minds behind the technology used in this specialist athlete clothing identified a gap in the market, and the rest as they say, is history.

So if you’re worried you’ll have to offset the comfort of your memory foam with the risk of overheating, then worry no more – with a moisture control system and rapid evaporation qualities, Coolmax® mattress covers will keep you cool and dry in summer, and comfortably warm and dry in winter too!

Memory Mattresses – Not Your Usual Mattress

My Memory Mattress

A Memory foam mattress is not your ordinary type of mattress. It gives you comfort. It gives your body the support it needs during its rest and sleep. But how does it do this? After all the recent hype it’s easy to understand how you could be easily baffled by all the jargon and adverts promoting memory foam.

Well let’s sort these baffling claims out and explain it all! Memory mattresses remember your body form and contour and adjust easily to make you more comfortable as you sleep. And when you get up, it also regains its original form so that you can easily lay on it again come the next time that you have to go to sleep and it reforms to your new position.

But more than the comfort and support that this intelligent mattress can give you, this also relieves you from certain body aches and pains. It has proves its effectiveness for chronic pains especially in the back area, in the lower back, in the joints and on your neck. Most people have this dilemma with their mattresses. It is either they’ve got a bed that is too soft or too hard for their own comfort. As a result, instead of being well rested, they experience more and more body pains after they have woken up from their not so comfortable slumber also making them grouchy!

This is what the memory foam type of mattress addresses. It gives you comfort and convenience that you are always on the lookout for. But they are not cheap! But you can still bag a bargain you just have to know where to buy and what brand suits your needs and budget the best in order to decide the right mattress for you.

This type of foam is also recommended for people suffering from Pagets disease and those who have arthritis. Actually, this foam is becoming more and more popular not only on households but on known establishments like hotels and even the chairs on certain cinemas.

Imagine yourself watching a movie on the big screen while relaxing your body all the while. You will really be able to enjoy the film and will remember the experience as well. It is such a treat that you would want to experience over and over again.

If you are still wondering how come this type of mattress seems to work like miracle, here is a brief explanation. The foam actually becomes softer as it adjusts to the temperature, weight and contours of your body. This is actually an insulating material that in some areas, its temperature can be adjusted depending on its location.

With all the comfort that this type of mattress gives you, it’s no wonder millions of people are saving up their hard earned cash to purchase one. Nothing beats a good night’s sleep. And this is an effective way to achieve this. Recently many new brands have come up with their own version of this type of mattress giving you a huge choice, this is good because is means instead of the mattresses being 5 figure prices they have been driven down to be affordable to most.

With a memory mattress, you can be certain of a good delta night’s sleep and waking up feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle the day with a positive attitude!

Buying A Memory Foam Mattress - The Definitive Guide

My Memory Mattress

A memory foam mattress can give you quite a more comfortable sleeping experience than any other ordinary mattress. That is because memory foam conforms to the body's contours to give added support where it is needed. The memory foam is unlike any other ordinary foam mattress in that they are temperature sensitive and reacts to a person's body temperature to provide the cushioning effect. When the foam gets warmer, the memory foam becomes softer.

In buying a memory foam mattress, you should first know that the mattress in question is not made entirely out of memory foam. In fact, memory foam mattresses have a core and then layered with several memory foams. The core is the one that provided the mattress with a sturdy base from which the layers of memory foam would work more effectively.

The core of the memory foam mattress should also be considered when buying. The layers of memory foam would work its magic more effectively. An ideal core for the mattress should be about 6" of high density foam that should be at least 2 lbs per cubic foot. This will ensure a firm enough base for the layers of memory foam to work effectively in providing support. Cores that may have thinner and less dense foam inside would feel that the mattress is bottoming out after some time.

The next thing to consider when looking for a suitable memory foam mattress is the layers of memory foam used. There are basically three types of memory foam according to their density and thickness. The best mattress to consider would be those that make use of memory foam in the middle category. This would be memory foam around 3" to 5" thick and 3 to 4 lbs foam density.

Less dense memory foam may feel too soft like it cannot support into a person's body weight for long without bottoming out. Mattresses on the other hand that make use of super dense memory foam of 5 lbs or higher density may feel to firm and hard. Super dense memory foam tend also to become more temperature sensitive. Although the super dense memory foam mattress may feel hard at room temperature, they can become too soft as they get warmer due to a person's body heat.

This will actually lead to forming a cocoon around the person lying on it as it conforms to the body shape. The foam area not affected by the body heat tends to remain firm and hard, making it difficult to move around when the memory foam settles. There are now a lot of memory foam mattress choices available out there. What type you would ultimately choose would depend on the level of comfort that you expect. Their prices may also vary and it does not mean that the most expensive mattresses would be able to provide you with the best comfort.
Delta Sleep, Deep Space and the Memory Foam Mattress

My Memory Mattress

With nearly 1 million UK residents and all of 70 million US residents seeking help for sleep problems every year, our public roads, schools and workplaces are full of people feeling irritable, groggy or depressed because they simply aren't getting the rest they need. If someone you care for has chronic sleep complaints, the gift of a memory foam mattress can bring about the deep, delta sleep all of us crave to be feeling our best.

Delta sleep is easier with this gift from deep space - the visco-elastic memory foam that was invented by NASA in the 1970's to cushion astronauts by absorbing the shocks of space
travel. Memory foam has now become a top choice for the very best, most comfortable mattresses. In deep, stage 4 delta sleep, our brainwaves are slow and restful and the human growth hormone HGH is released to repair worn and tired body tissues. Humans cannot reach this stage of restorative sleep if they aren't resting easy or if they are suffering from certain health problems, and millions have switched to memory mattresses for relief from the stresses that have kept them awake too long.

Does your mom's fibromyalgia give her agonizing restless leg syndrome at night? Does your dad's snoring wake up the neighborhood? Has hubby started a new exercise regimen that's resulted in the worst sore muscles known to man? Is your wife having hot flashes or night sweats? Have an auntie with morning migraines or an uncle who was recently in a car accident and is now walking around with whiplash that makes every step a pain in the neck? The form-fitting, skeletal support offered by the visco-elastic foam of a memory mattress takes the pressure off joints and cradles the quirky kinks of each individual's body. The unique texture of the foam also handles body heat in a way that keeps sleepers snoozing at a comfortable, even temperature. Couples are thrilled by the fact that if he likes a soft mattress but she likes something firmer, memory mattresses accommodate both parties with a fit like a glove, night after blissful night. Memory foam mattresses are also being used to combat dust mites and bed sores.

With so many soothing and healing attributes, it's little wonder that memory mattresses have become the sleeping space of choice for 60% of Europeans. Some liken the difference between a traditional and memory mattress to your choice of sleeping on barbed wire or sinking onto a bed of soft, yielding sand on a sunny beach.

Modern medicine is linking lack of deep sleep to obesity, short-term memory problems, poor performance at work or school, delayed response times and automobile accidents. Certainly, you'd
like your loved ones' lives to be free of these serious concerns. If you're looking for a truly caring gift, why not help someone special get up on the right side of the bed tomorrow with a memory foam mattress?
